Barenaked Ladies rock rock rock rock rock! The concert was more than awesome, better than I expected, so much fun! Alanis Morissette opened for them (or co-headlined? not sure. her show was shorter). She was decent. Not really a big fan of hers, but I knew some songs and the sound quality was good. But the Ladies. Oh my god. Were they ever awesome. And my expectations were extremely high, so I could have been let down easily. It really was the best show I've ever seen.
If you remotely like BNL, you should see them in concert. Very entertaining and they sound so good. Excellent vocals (maybe better than studio?) and now I am in love. Ok, so if you've ever seen a picture, video, etc, you know they are kinda dorky looking (Tony says they look like a bunch of computer programmers - um, nice observation, honey, you're a programmer!) In person, Ed Robertson (vocals, guitar) is really hottt! I kid you not. Good hair, nice body, muscular arms, tattoos. It was a pleasant surprise. I can't wait to go to the next concert. I need to somehow find a connection and get some close seats next time.
I guess my only complaint is that they only played a couple songs from their latest album. OK, latest CD. I still say album. I am lame. But they played lots of their older stuff, which was great too. I really did not want the show to be over. They totally had enough good material to play for another hour! Well, the ball is rolling now - you know I'll be at every other concert of theirs I can get to. Yes, I will beg to go to Lexington or Columbus. AH! It was such a wonderful concert.
