Better Baby, Urology, Misc & Some Privileged Info

Cameron had a much better night last night. I only heard him cry in his sleep once, and it was a short one. He seems to be feeling better today, although he is still congested and just generally tired-acting.

The urologist appointment went well yesterday. Well, except we had to wait FOREVER before we were called back. The doctor was nice...he checked out Cam's penis and testicles pretty quickly and then explained some things to us. First, he noticed that Cam has a hydrocele, which is fluid in his testicle. It's actually fluid from the abdomen that "leaks" into the sac. It's very common in infant boys (50%) and usually goes away without surgery. He said Cam's looks mild. And then about his penile adhesion (the band of extra skin on his penis), he just prescribed a steroid cream that we are supposed to put around the head of his penis 3x a day for a month or two. It is supposed to gradually "dissolve" (can't think of a better word) the extra skin. If that does not work, then they will just snip the skin. We need to make a follow-up appointment for 6 months from now so the doc can check his hydrocele and to make sure the adhesion is all cleared up. I was quite pleased with the appointment.

I haven't been back to the gym since Thursday. One, I had shin pain after my marathon workout. But that's really no excuse, because I could have done strength training. Really, I haven't been because Cam's been sick and we've been so busy all weekend. I want to go today, but don't want to take Cameron to the nursery with a cold. I wouldn't want other sick kids spreading their germs to Cam, so I won't do it either. We'll see what Tony thinks of me going tonight for a bit.

The house is a holy mess. I plan to clean the kitchen, dining room and living room today. Plus 3 loads of laundry and appointments to make. Oh yeah, and I need to create a grocery list so we can have food in the house. I feel slightly motivated to clean. That's better than a lot of days!

OK, so if you read my blog, then you get some privileged info about us. Info that we are not openly sharing with the rest of the world (including parents). We plan to start trying to conceive baby #2 in late July. I am now off the pill and living "clean" for 3 months (no pill, no alcohol, eating better, taking prenatal vitamins, etc). I know you never know with these things, but I doubt I'll get preggo in July. It took 3 months with Cam. I'm in my friend Melanie's wedding in September, but even if we conceive in July, I'll be safe. I won't be showing in September, so I'll look all hot (ha ha) in my bridesmaid dress! Well, at least I won't have anything other than my normal belly pooch. I'm trying to get down to a reasonable weight (the healthy, relatively slow way) by July. I don't want to weigh a ton at my first doctor's visit. I think I can do it. The heat is on, now! I'm telling you guys all this personal information because I just have to tell someone! So now you get to hear all my cycle details in the months to come! Lucky dogs.
