Let's just call this Anniversary Week. It all kicked off Saturday night with our scrumptious dinner at The Melting Pot. It continues tonight, when Cam goes to Gma Jackie's for a couple of hours and Tony and I pig out at Benihana! Can you believe it? Benihana. Just love the place. LOOOOVE the shrimp. It's the only place I will eat shrimp. There, it's like meat and less like icky, squishy sea life. I am so psyched! My belly is emitting a shallow growl, but I am totally holding off so I don't ruin my appetite. Plus, I get full very quickly lately, and I don't want to chance not being hungry at 6:00. Yum-diddly-yum-yum-yum.
Cameron did something this afternoon that he hasn't done for a long time lately. He sat on the floor for a half hour and read his books! He used to read all the time, for long stretches of time. Lately, though, he's been too busy running around and terrorizing the dogs/house/household items to stay still for any period of time. I just sat and watched him while he was totally engrossed in those books. It was so sweet.
I. Cannot. Stand. Dora. The. Explorer. She drives me mad, but Cameron really seems to dig the show. They all talk way too loud and all the repetition makes me bonkers. Of course the formula toddlers and preschoolers love. The worst part about the damn show is The Map. Every episode, he sings this grating little ditty:
"If there's a place you gotta go,
I'm the one you need to know,
I'm the map, I'm the map, I'm the map.
If there's a place you gotta get,
I can get you there I bet,
I'm the map!
I'm the map, I'm the map, I'm the map, I'm the map,
I'm the map, I'm the map, I'm the map, I'm the map,
I'm the map, I'm the map, I'm the map!"
I am not even exaggerating. He says "I'm the map" that many times. I just want to rip the freaking map to shreds. And every stupid little song from that show stays in my head all day long. This has got to be way worse than Barney ever was. If I turn the channel, Cam whines, "DORA!" until I change it back. Damn Map. Damn Dora. Damn TV.
