Listening to: Maybe You Should Drive - BNL *these apples are de-licious* (that was me, singing)

Cam's appointment with the urologist went swimmingly! It was awesome in many ways. First, we were called back very quickly, like within 10 minutes. The office is at Children's Hospital and the waiting area for Urology is usually mobbed. We usually wait at least an hour. Not so yesterday. For that, I was pleased. After the initial "consult" or whatever with the nurse, a doctor came in like 5 minutes later! I say "a doctor" because it wasn't our normal urologist. This guy is a nephrologist (specializes in kidney stuff - I just found that out, thanks Google!) who was helping out/learning from our urologist. Anyway, the nephrologist listened to Cam's heart, pushed around on this tummy, checked out his incision/penis and Cam really liked him! He was totally cool with Cam...very upbeat...smiley...very cool. We waited for like 10 minutes (or less) for both our urologist and the nephrologist to come back in. Dr. R (the urologist) said everything looks awesome and that he has enjoyed taking care of Cameron but we don't have to come back! Woot! Now, I really like Dr. R, but I hate having to navigate to Children's, the usual long waits and the extra medical expenses. So yay! Very happy. Marking another affliction off the list of many! So, get this - this is so cool - we got there earlier than our 4:10 appointment (not sure exactly what time) but we were waiting for the elevator to leave at 4:30! How rocking is that?
We ate at Max and Erma's after. Cam was pretty good most of the time, but he did have a couple of 'not feeling so well' moments. We had picked Tony up from work on the way to the hospital, so we had to drop him back off at his garage. My God. The ride home was horrific. Cameron screamed The. Entire. Way. Home. Nothing would calm him. It wasn't exactly a cry, more like a shout/scream/screech. He was just unhappy to be back there in his car seat, I guess. I thought I was going to have an aneurysm by the time we arrived home. He's never done anything like that before. Oh, couple the screaming with a dark, rainy, traffic-heavy interstate. It was stressful. I had the killerest headache the rest of the night. Thank goodness is was gone this morning.
OMG, don't ever feed Cam apple slices and then take a bite directly from the apple in front of him. He was pissed! Like, "how dare you feed me these BITS when you get to chomp right from the source!" That prompted a lovely fit in the highchair. Must have lasted a good two minutes. And then he picked up a cracker, took a bite and all was back to normal in CamLand. I do think the terrible twos are not a myth and that my child is starting them early. Overachiever. He gets frustrated when we don't know what he's asking for. Like this morning, we were clapping and dancing. He likes to clap my hands for me, so I was letting him do that. He got serious, and said "blecha" or something un-decipherable, so I put my hands together in front of him so he could clap them some more. He shouted at me and fell to the ground and lay there crying for 30 seconds. Then it was over. I can understand that he's frustrated when he can't communicate with me, but man! Poor guy. When he doesn't get his way, or when a toy doesn't do what he wants it to, he'll slam his head into the arm of the couch, the floor, the fireplace hearth. Lovely! This will be a topic of conversation at his 18-month doctor visit next week, for certain!
We are going to dinner (LaRosa's) with Stason tonight, sort of a Congrats on Being Pregnant dinner. I hope C-note can control his emotions for the most part tonight! And I hope he feels ok. His congestion seems to be peaking today. Poor mucous-y kid. Thank God for Tylenol Cold, I say.
I don't really like this album (Maybe You Should Drive). Or the other early-BNL album (Born on a Pirate Ship) I got for Christmas. I mean, I like a few songs off both albums, but overall, I wouldn't give either a 5-star rating. Of BNL's last five albums, I can say that I like each one, the whole thing. Sure maybe there is one song I skip over, but the records rock overall. Maybe I'm just a poser who really doesn't appreciate BNL. Whatever. I like them immensely, so there. I appreciate what they've EVOLVED to be. Yes.
Catch you later.
