How To Be a Good Mom, Part 4

Heh heh.  Sometimes I like to mess with my kids. 

Like just now, I got up from the couch and said to Cam, who is working on his Pixos project, "So, at this point, I'm going to go into the bathroom and brush my hair and then put on a little makeup.  Is that ok with you?" 

He replied, "Yeah." 

From the bathroom, I'm like, "Huh? I can't hear you.  Is it ok if I brush my hair and put on makeup?" 

Cam said, "Yes. You can put on makeup anytime you want to." 

I said, "Are you sure, because I don't want to be doing the wrong thing around here...you're not just saying that to be nice, are you?  You wouldn't lie to me, right?" 

Poor Cam said, "No, I wouldn't lie to you." 

I asked, "Why wouldn't you?" 

He replied, "Because you're my mom!" 

Me: "So, huh.  You wouldn't lie to me because I'm your mom?  Have you ever lied to me before?" 

Cam: "Yes." 

I came back with, "Well, you just said you wouldn't lie to me.  Why did you lie in the past?" 

Cam said, "Because - Mom, can we just stop talking?  I'm trying to concentrate." 

I said, "Of course.  I was just messin' with ya."
