I report to work for training at 8am this coming Monday morning! Nervous, excited, and all that, but mostly just ready to move forward. After like 3-4 weeks of training, my normal working hours will be 10am-7pm. Which is good and it's bad. Good, in that I'll avoid all rush hour traffic, which can be a bitch and a half on I-71. Good, in that on weeks I have the kids, I'll be able to easily get them off to school/babysitter/daycare/wherever. Good, because I'm kind of a mini-night owl. Bad, in that I'll be working until 7pm. Totally outside of traditional daycare hours. Gonna have a lot to figure out with that. Also lots to figure out with the ex about child care, both immediate and long-term. And schedules. Not looking forward much to that, since we have wildly opposing styles of communication, and any conversation lately usually ends with him getting pissed at me, and then me getting pissed at him for being unreasonable, and finally me getting pissed at myself for letting myself be affected by it all.
Lots to do! OMG, I have one outfit I can wear to work. One business casual outfit. Wait, possibly two. I'm going to have to get some more pants, for certain.
Whew.
Tonight is part one of my Families in Transition class that you have to go through if you are divorcing and have kids in the KY. Not looking forward to it and don't appreciate being forced to (1) have to attend such a class when likely a pamphlet or webpage would give me the same information, and (2) have to pay $50 for the freaking thing! Part two is tomorrow afternoon. Way to fuck up my weekend, Kentucky. The only good thing I can see coming out of this is the people observing. I'm sure there'll be all kinds of folks there. Blogging material, for certain.
About everything moving moving so crazy-quick after being stalled out for so long (jobwise) I am jazzed! Spazzed! Crazed! Before you know it, my new normal will be happening. Yeah!

Well, maybe Families In Transition will give you some ideas on how to deal with your ex. Congratulations on the new job!
