My niece and I took the camera and headed out for a little walk today. We wanted to capture these crazy flowers. I think they are wild, neat, ugly, intriguing, and have pretty colors. Are you familiar with these? Do you know what they are?
Also, this house. I have always respected this house. Totally and completely not my style, but I always thought the owners represented their tastes well. Not into the whole "country style" thing or whatever, but I thought they did it tastefully and....unapologetically:
They have a single candle in each window. Wooden chairs. Decent-to-nice landscaping...
Wood rocking chairs, two porch swings, ceiling fans, wooden screen door. Very southern. Yet tasteful.
Look at the porch's floor! Wood! You totally don't see that in a newer subdivision. Snaps to these owners.
But then, my respect for these homeowners was knocked down several notches recently, when this atrocity appeared. I was shocked at the lack of taste. They just went way too far.
W.T.F.?????? Yes, you like wooden chairs. You have like 12 of them on your porch. Do you need to advertise it on an ugly-ass flag? That is just retarded. What are you thinking? Was this a gift? Did a well-meaning relative note that you have an affinity for country decorating and bestow this token of their observation upon you? And you felt obligated to display it? So that you can ruin the nearly-perfect little country house fantasy you had going on in the middle of a newish subdivision? You were unique! You didn't blend! You were respected for the stand you took! Now? You are just tacky. Tacky country flag-filth in the middle of a newish subdivision. You blew it. I shake my head at you.

Decorative flags are dumb (IMHO). Flying a U.S. flag is one thing, at least it has meaning. :)
I have no idea what that plant is but we had them when we lived in CA.
The funny thing is I drive past that house a few times a week and have never noticed all of the crappy details!!!
