Having fun yet?
Luke has has diarrhea for like 4 days now, but seems otherwise healthy. Cam started with a cough yesterday, and a fever overnight. The cough is obnoxious and persistent today. He threw up from coughing so forcefully this morning. He pooped in his underwear earlier, and just now he had diarrhea in them (well, in new ones).
On the bright side (is there one?) Tony and I got a lot of Christmas shopping done last night. Too bad our three kidless hours couldn't have been more relaxing, though. And I got a few more gifts wrapped today. So my day has consisted of cleaning up puke and poop, listening to a crying baby, getting the kids fed, house in some kind of order, doing laundry/folding, wrapping, paying bills, hobbling around because my is killing me and telling Hank to stop licking. That's about it. No shower. Not much relaxing. I think I'm just going to sit on the couch until Tony gets home.

Don't understand how this isn't a bad day, but...
Got up early with Luke this morning. Not long after Tony left for work, I got a phone call....it was T saying his car died. Luckily it was near his work, and luckily he was able to pull it off the road. So, he had it towed to my mom's service station, since our mechanic is having medical problems right now. I had to wake Cam up and drive there to pick Tony up. He just dropped us off at home and took the minivan to work. Mom's garage can't even look at the car until Monday. That kind of sucks. I'm pretty sure Roger (our mechanic) would have checked it out and probably had it fixed by this afternoon. Oh well, what can you do? It's likely the alternator, which costs an arm and a leg. Damn 8 year old car!
We've had a fun day today. Obviously, it started with the car excitement. Then we got McDonald's for breakfast, which is thrilling for the kids. Lukey took a long nap, and Cam and I made some Christmas gifts and decorated gift bags. Then I let the boys eat crackers and cookies for lunch. How about that? I think I'll cut up an apple here for them....got to get some nutrition in for the day! As soon as Luke goes down for his afternoon nap, C & I plan to do another craft. I'm pretty stoked that he can make stuff this year. And he's really proud of what he creates.
We're doing a frozen pizza from Kroger tonight (they are really good!) and maybe after dinner, I can get a little bit of Christmas shopping in. The excitement abounds!

Feliz backbuttface pain
I have the headache to end all headaches. It's actually a face ache. We all went to get haircuts, etc last night and on the way home, I realized I had been clenching like every muscle from the neck up. I guess I was just uncomfortable leaning back into the bowl to get the highlight stuff washed out of my hair. While the conditioner was on, my hair person waxed my brows - and that kind of took a while since I've been awful about maintaining them, plus I haven't had them waxed in well over a month. I assume that's when I tensed up, being in that strange position for so long. Consequently, I've had a headache and sore jaw ever since. It is such a chore to chew food.
Today was Cameron's little Christmas program at school. It was so. stinking. cute! The 15 kids in his class sang like four songs, complete with hand motions and dancing! It was funny to see how differently the kids reacted to performing. A few were going to town, belting out the words and dancing like fools. A few were scared stiff, deer in headlights. The rest were somewhere in between, alternating between singing/dancing conservatively and standing perfectly still/looking bewildered! Our Cam was the latter. He did get his groove on for a verse of a surprisingly up-tempo rocker "Jesus Loves Me". It was really neat. Tony took a late lunch to come and watch, which the boys thought was super cool. So, now C-note's off school for the rest of the year. He's so going to itching to go back by January 2nd!
This pregnancy is flying by. I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow. My belly suddenly (like seriously, overnight) popped out around 13 weeks. Being in maternity clothes is kind of strange. I feel like people are looking at me, going, "holy shit, that chick has a preschooler, a 14-month-old AND she's got one on the way?! What a NUT!" So I'm kind of insecure. Probably, they're just looking at me, going, "that fat woman never lost her stomach from that 14-month-old. And why doesn't she do something with her hair?" I'm having sucky-ass sciatic nerve pain al-freaking-ready. Whenever I do any type of housework that requires standing for more than 5 minutes, it kicks in and doesn't go away until the next morning. We totally need to get a web page going for the new baby, and pretty soon. We haven't even taken one belly shot. I totally suck this time around!
Welz, better get the house cleaned up (bring on the back/butt pain), mail opened, and laundry going. This season makes me want to have a halfway clean house, for some reason.

Shit, Part Deux
Yesterday, Luke took a long nap - like 5 hours. It was his only nap of the day (he generally takes two, which equal about 5 hours total, but the timing got thrown off yesterday). He woke up with vomit all over himself and the bed, and a little bit of diarrhea in his diaper. Ohmygod, was it disgusting. It was the most pungent smell, like cottage cheese gone bad. So, I got him all cleaned up, and Tony got home while LJ was in the bath and helped with the bedding. This morning, he woke - after sleeping for 11 rocking hours straight! - with massive ED (aka, explosive diarrhea) all over himself and the bed. It smelled exactly like last yesterday's puke! So, we had a hectic morning, getting Luke bathed, Cam bathed, and everyone ready to get Cameron off to school. Luckily, I had gotten my shower earlier, before the boys woke. We also got some unexpected snow this morning, and the roads hadn't been treated, so getting to school was a joy. Very slippery. It was my first time driving in snow in the new minivan...it's harder to handle than the Taurus. I was surprised the church parking lot was untreated. We had to be really careful walking into the building. A lot of teachers hadn't made it to school yet, so all of the classes were meeting together in the gym. Cam was the first kid to arrive for his class. I guess we're lucky to be so close to school. OK, I'm going to go trim my nails while Luke is still napping. I hope the only thing in his diaper is pee when he wakes up!

Well, shit.
I hate underwear. I hate potty training. I hate poop. EVERY TIME I put Cameron in a pair of underwear, he poops in them. And I don't force him to wear the undies, or even encourage him. It's all him. And I remind him 1.3 million times to pee/poop on the potty if he needs to, because I'm terrified he'll soak the couch or something. It's hard to get the Bob the Builder underwear off without spilling out the little (or big) poop balls. I'm sick of scrubbing shit out of undies! Can't I send him off to some potty training boot camp? At this point, I couldn't care less if he's in diapers for the rest of his life!

Chugga chugga
So, we live near train tracks. On the way home the other night, I got stuck waiting for a train and did some pondering. Which car is my favorite? Well, the conductor's car, of course. I still get excited when I see the conductor. And I kind of like the cars that are stacked two high. But not the ones that aren't the same length. I really don't like it when the top car is longer than the bottom one. That's just so not right.
After being sick for like forever and a day, Cameron, Luke and I were healthy for approximately one week. Then Lukey woke up with a runny nose Saturday. Cam woke up snotty today. I foresee a cold in my future as well. F-U-N! Tony has had it the worst, maybe. He had a big ass-kicking sinus infection, coupled with an ear infection. He still has ringing in his ear and can't hear well. Apparently, that's normal and he may not get his hearing back for 4 - 6 weeks!
The house is strangely clean and all decorated for Christmas. The boys are having a great time rearranging the ornaments on the tree and shaking it senseless. Not that artificial trees have sense. Or real trees for that matter...
