OK, some people are interested to know how I come up with my weekly driver picks for the NASCAR Nextel Cup races. My picks this week & why:
Ryan Newman - he won at Texas Motor Speedway in the Winston Cup race last year. He's my most expensive pick this week.
Joe Nemechek - Nemechek won the Bush race at Texas in 2003, and he's relatively inexpensive.
Dale Jarrett - because I always pick DJ.
Mark Martin - this is a killer. Can't stand the guy, but he won at Texas in 2000 and he's soooo cheap. Inexpensive too!
Jeff Burton - I only had like 150,000 left to spend on a driver and Jeff looked to be the best of the bunch.
Pretty scientific, eh? It's getting harder and harder to make picks and the driver salaries go up, while our spending limit remains the same. By the end of the season, we'll only be able to pick the five drivers at the bottom of the list!
Horror of horrors! Guess what I found this morning, soon after I made today's first blog entry? It's gross. Ants! Little mini ants crawling on the wall of our office, near the window. It's like they come out of nowhere. You squish 5, throw the tissue away, look back up and there's 5 more. Ick, Ick, Ick is all I can say. Tony got some sand stuff to sprinkle outside to keep them away from the house. Also got some disks to poison the litter f-ers. Sorry about the quasi-cursing, but I hate bugs. Turns out, when we got cable, they removed some wires that were already there (previous owners got some free cable, it seems) leaving holes in the house. Tony filled the holes with some kind of foam insulation (can you tell I have no idea what I'm talking about?) quite awhile back, but I guess it had disintegrated some, leaving a lovely opening for the ants to come in. Holes are now refilled. Hope the icky f-ers go away soon. It's making me all itchy and uncomfortable just to sit here and type this. I'm outta this ant room.
