Dad, Cam, Reading

My dad was released from the hospital on Friday. They weren't giving him any kind of treatments or anything - they were just monitoring him - so I guess they figured he'd be just as well off at home. He has an appointment with the hematologist tomorrow. HOPEFULLY they will have his bone marrow test results ready to go by then. And HOPEFULLY they will have figured out what the heck is going on and how to treat it.

Cameron had a really really really difficult time going to bed tonight. This never happens. He usually goes to bed for the night so well. Every time we'd lie him down, he'd cry like he meant it. Big, heaving, gutsy cries that break your heart. He was relatively fine in Daddy's arms, watching American Idol. But when he got all peaceful and we tried to put him in the crib, he'd wail again. He had just drunk 7 ounces of formula, but we thought perhaps he was still hungry, so I made more. He drank 4 more, but he still would not go down. Finally I just said, let him cry...he's so sleepy he'll cry it out. He was out within 3 minutes. Oh, and did I mention he's teething? Can you tell??? His top right tooth is coming in well and I can see a speck of white on the top left. Anyway, I hope we don't see a repeat performance tomorrow night! Or for any of his daytime naps tomorrow, for that matter.

Cameron is a pulling up fool these days. I think it was two days ago that he first pulled himself up on the couch (if you'll recall, he has pulled himself up on his airtivity toy in the past, but did not think much of it I guess, because it only happened occasionally). He does it tons now. I'll be sitting on the couch reading my book and pretending to ignore as he tries to get my attention. He'll wobble up on his knees and hoist himself up to a standing position, supporting himself on the couch. I'll look down and there he is, smiling and moving his head from side to side - so proud of himself! It's so cute.

Well, I'm Stephanie Plum-less now. I've read all of the books in the series that have been released. June 22 is the big day! The new one "Ten Big Ones" is released that day. Can't wait. In the meantime, I'm reading "Tara Road" by Maeve Binchy. Quite a departure from bounty hunter mystery books, but it's mildly entertaining. As usual, I have a problem with the author's writing style. Too many obnoxious run-on sentences. But maybe that's an Irish thing? The book is set in Ireland and I believe the author is Irish as well. Plus the characters speak in such formal manners. "Oh yes, Mother, I do believe tea would be quite lovely" Give me a break. It's not like the book is set in the 1800s. It's modern day, for goodness sake.

Am I most impossible to please?
