Choose my earrings, and other info

Alright Blog Readers, I apologize for the delayed update. I just haven't felt much like talking about what's been going on with my dad. He had his spleen removed Wednesday. The surgeon said it was 20-25x the normal spleen. Dad was in ICU until Friday and now his in a "rehab" type room. The incision is giant. I guess you could say it's "sternum to stem"....it starts just below his rib cage and goes all the way past the waistline of his PJs. Yesterday, when we visited, he was off all the machines...no IV, morphine or catheter. He's moving around a lot more easily, but he's totally in agonizing pain still. I could only imagine how he feels. I thought it was the worst thing ever when I had my c-section, but this is way worse than that. The docs expect him to be able to come home Wednesday.

I just got back from the loverly gynecologist. Actually, it wasn't that bad. At least I got to chat with my favorite doctor. He said he'd see me in a couple months when I get pregnant. Let's hope so. Today is cycle day 11, cycle #5 of trying. I hope we hit the target this month. I'm definitely tired of trying to conceive at this point. It's exhausting. And I'm not talking physically, but emotionally.

Barenaked Ladies' holiday album, Barenaked for the Holidays, comes out October 5th. I'm pretty psyched. I love holiday music and I love BNL, so there's gonna be a lot of love floating around! They tease us with 30-second snippets of 4 of the album's songs on their website. Check it out if you wish: http://barenakedladies.com/holidays/ I just listen to them over and over as I type. I even tolerate the duet with Sarah McLachlin. Nah, she's not that bad, just a little annoying in my book. So, woot! for Christmastime!

On other BNL fronts, I am still patiently waiting my "bootleg" cd form their Cincinnati show. I know they were shipping it on September 2nd, but I, being the cheapie that I am, chose ground mail, so it could take like 14-20 days. Damn Canadian company (just kidding). Damn slow shipping! I'm hoping it will be waiting in my mailbox today!

Melanie W's wedding is this Saturday. I feel pretty ready in my role as trusty bridesmaid. My dress is all altered and ready to go. Shoes, check. Hair appointment, check. Fat-sucking-in undergarment, check. Upward-pushing strapless bra, check. Rhinestone earrings, check (well, actually, I bought two pair...need to decide between them. Maybe you guys can help? Sure, that's a good idea. Here are the pictures. Let me know which ones you dig best in the "comment" section. Thanks friends.
