Odd day so far today. Not bad odd, just different odd. I'm not sure what time Cam woke up this morning. I was in and out of sleep until about 8:30. I got up to check on Cam and he was just lying there, sucking on his finger, very quiet and "in the zone". I got him up, changed a very very very stinky poopy diaper. It smelled so rotten. Fed him his bottle. Watched The Wiggles with him in my lap. By the start of Stanley, he was acting all sleepy. We went in his room and played for like 10 minutes and then he was really acting tired and cranky (or tird and poopy for you, KT), so I put him in bed and he fell asleep right away and slept for about 40 minutes.
We just had some breakfast. The very delicious combo of barley cereal and banana apple yogurt (ick, in my opinion). And a zwieback toast to gnaw on in between bites. Some water to top things off. He's actually getting a couple of ounces of water out of the sippy cup these days. I'd say more than half of that goes into his mouth. The rest dribbles down his chin! Today, he kept banging the spout into his teeth. It was kinda creeping me out. The sound gave me the shivers.
OK....HOT topic. I am reading a book my friend got me. It is called "One for the Money" by Janet Evanovich. It is the first is a series of Stephanie Plum novels. No offense, Shannon, but I do not like this book. It is smutty and crass! I can't even put into words how I feel about the writing style, but it really bugs me. I hate to sound all girly, but it's like it's written for a man. It reminds me of Mickey Spillane. I am totally in the minority, here. The Stephanie Plum series has received rave reviews. I do not like it, so why can't I put it down? It's turning into a bad habit for me! I feel that I will probably buy the next book in the series. Why do we read books we don't like? It's like a bad addiction. Has anyone else read these books? Anyone have a similar experience with other authors?
My diapers and formula came at noon! I was pretty excited to see the big brown truck pull up. Do you know what this means? We won't have to buy diapers or formula for more than a month! Two less things to worry about. Maybe there is something to this "buying in bulk" thing after all. Now, if we only had a bigger house...
It's 12:30 now...I've been writing this entry all morning! Cam's back in bed now. He's such a cute little man. We played in the living room for at least an hour. I blocked off the dining room entrance with his pack n play and put the ottoman in front of the kitchen/hallway opening. Cam helped me fold whites and then kept the empty basket occupied after. He likes to turn it on its side and crawl in and beat on the bottom of it. We played with several toys and then watched the end of the Rolie Polie Olie Baby Bot Chase movie. I had a blast playing with him. I'm so lucky to be able to spend so much time with him. It's awesome!
Well, my tummy says it lunchtime, so I'm off to nuke some leftover pizza. Yum!
