Well, here you have it...my first ever blog entry. Who know what direction this web log will take. We shall see, I guess. You gotta know I'll be talking about my son, Cameron, a lot. I mean, he is what consumes most of my existence these days!
Disclaimer: pardon my misspellings, grammar snafus and general lack of proofreading. I am the mother of a young child (wink, wink to Shawn) so my entries won't be perfecto.
Ok, first off: Easter Dress. I bought something to wear to church on Easter Sunday. Yes, we are going to church on Easter. Tony's dad and stepmom practically got on their hand and knees and begged us, so we are going. I'm not looking forward to it. I am not a church person, but MY GOD - pardon that sacreligous phrase - their church is Soooo Freaking Booooorrring. I'm convinced they send the bad, crappy ministers to the small country churches. Not only is the minister bad, but I know Cameron (who just turned 9 months old and would like nothing better than to be on the ground, crawling and playing) will not sit quitely through the service. Ugg.
You know my fat body owned no Church Holiday Wear. I wasn't very hip to spending gobs of cashola on an outfit in a larger size, since I won't be this size much longer (I won't, I say. I won't!) But, I bit the bullet and went to the mall last night. Bought a pink flowery sleeveless dress. Think spring. And a lovely pink sweater to cover my rolly polly arms. Now I have to get shoes! Ah, the fun never ends. Man, am I a complainer, or what?? Oh, well, the good news that comes out of this is that a size 14 at Ann Taylor Loft is too big for me! It feels good to be in a 12. I do think their sizes run large, though...
On to more fun things....I have decarled this month "No Soda April." Which means.....duh....I will not be partaking in sodas of any kind for the entire month. No Coke, Caffeine Free Coke, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Sierra Mist. None of the good stuff. It shouldn't be too hard. Although I love a Coke with my pizza. And I dig a Dr. Pepper with my Skyline Chili.
Cam's 9-month appointment is next Wednesday, April 7th. I'm excited to see how much he weighs and how long my guy is. Can't wait!!
I have a calendar that lists monthly health observances. You'll be interested to know that in April we celeberate: Foot Awareness, Parkinson Awareness and - drumroll, please - Sexually Transmitted Disease Awareness!!! Woo hoo! It is also Humor Month, so put on those smiley faces, everyone and tell a dirty joke!
Cameron is currently napping. He's been in sleepy land for about 25 minutes now. Wonder how long this one will last? Could be 40 minutes, could be 100 minutes. There's no rhyme to the reason these days. I should be getting some housework done. The dishwasher needs to be unloaded...laundry is piling up, I could use a shower. But instead, I sit, typing away. It's finger exercise!
Speaking of excercise, I should get my butt to the gym. I feel guilty not going. I don't want to waste our hard-earned money. Maybe April should be "Go to the Gym at Least Three Times a Week Month." Guess I better get cracking. I did do sit ups the other day, but it makes my ribs sore. They are still bruised-feeling. Waaaah! What a baby I am.
Time to think about what Cam will have for breakfast when he wakes from his nap. I think I'm going to go with oatmeal and plums. And the obligatory Cheerios, along with a sippy cup of water. So he can turn it upside down and chew on the bottom of the cup. With water dripping everywhere.
Yikes, just remembered I need to get to the post office today. So it looks like we'll be going on a field trip! Yay! We're getting out of the house today!! Must jump in shower now. I'll catch ya later, web log.
