Wishing for a soundproof house...

Listening to: Barenaked Ladies - Disc One: All Their Greatest Hits

Reading: Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore

Today's kind of a sucky day. For one, I'm not feeling so hot in the stomach department. I didn't eat anything until just now (it's like 11:40) because everything I could think of to eat made me feel nauseous. Finally, my stomach started growling, so I thought maybe a turkey and cheese sandwich sounded ok. I just ate it, and blech - I feel icky. And actually, I'm not really complaining - I'm not upset or even bothered that I'm having morning sickness - just pointing out that I'm not able to enjoy one of my favorite pastimes, EATING. The sickness at least reminds me that something is going on down there in my uterus. Well, that and the sore breasticles. P.S. I'm six weeks today.

The main reason for this sucky day: at 9am, our neighbor two doors down decided today would be a nice day to tear up his driveway. OK, first, it's snowing! So they have a big digger/scraper machine going, a jackhammer hammering away, and a regular 4x4/F-150-type truck blocking the street. The digger breaks up some of the concrete/dirt and then dumps it in the back of the truck. Well, the truck bed obviously doesn't hold much, so they have to drive down to the circle in front of our house, turn around and I guess go dump it somewhere. All of this - over and over and over. I'm not sure how much Cameron has been able to nap, with the noise going on. There are times when it's quiet in his room and times where he he's kicking. Damn neighbor! And can this be a good thing to do in the snow? I don't know much about construction/destruction, but I know road crews won't work when it's wet out. Damn, I wish they'd take a lunch break or something - I can't even enjoy my music THROUGH MY HEADPHONES! Anyway, they are about 1/4 of the way through digging up the concrete and they've been at it for 3 hours. No peace today, I presume. Or is it assume? Either way, it sucks!

Alright then, enough of that! I've volunteered to read for Amy's 7th graders this coming Tuesday. It's Read Across the Community Day or something like that. I have no idea what to read yet, but I want it to be something humorous. I need to get to the library and see what's hot in 13-year-old humor these days. If any of you blog readers have any suggestions, throw them at me!

I am making Erin's Tater Tot Casserole for dinner tonight. We haven't been too good at eating in lately. Shameful. But I have to say - we are eating in more than usual, so I guess that's a start.

Yep, well, I'm off to stew in my anger over then digging and pounding outside. Plus I have to urinate. Have a quiet day!
