Hay Thar! Ain't my lights purdy?

Listening to: Rubberneck by Toadies (I've always loved Possum Kingdom...it's so dark and dirtay!)

Reading: Nothing! I finished Shopaholic and Sister last night. Julie's books from Denver should arrive today, though - just in time!!

So, listen to this. We had our outside Christmas lights up the whole month of January! Can you believe it? I told Tony we are just trying to fit in with our hilljack neighbors! Well, we never turned them on after Christmas, so give us a little credit. Finally, I got fed up and took them down yesterday. Amy came over to play with Cam and I went out to get to it. Lordy, were those strands ever tangled. I was getting so frustrated and my fingers were getting numb and my hair was falling out of its ponytail. Finally, I got fed up, came inside and got the scissors. I cut the freaking lights down! I saved about two strands, but the rest? Ruined! And I don't care! What a mess! If Tony had taken them down, no scissors would have been involved, but he has just been working so much that I could foresee the lights still being up in April! Couldn't have that. Oh well. Lights are pretty cheap, so we'll just buy new ones next year. If we put the damn things up at all!

I have several gift cards and returns from Christmas & my birthday, but I just can't get up the excitement to shop. I don't know where my drive has gone? It's kind of depressing. Maybe reading about someone else's obsession for shopping has taken care of my urges? What's wrong with me? How is spending money (even free money!) unappealing now? Hopefully, I'll snap out of it quickly. At least before it's too late to return some of that stuff! Ooh, actually, speaking of shopping - I have a $20 amazon.com gift cert that I need to use! I'm going to buy a book! Be right back....OK, a half hour later....I bought Babyville by Jane Greene and two packs of diapers. Qualified for free shipping, love it!

I'm going to try to get 3 loads of laundry done today. I have a load in the wash, waiting to be transferred to the dryer now. I think I'll go down and get the laundry moving again. Have a productive day!
