Listening to: By The Way - Red Hot Chili Peppers (see, my cd collection contains more than only Barenaked Ladies!)
Reading: Eats, Shoots & Leaves - Lynne Truss (I haven't opened it in almost two days, though)
Last night I had insomnia so bad. I truly feel sorry for those who grapple with it nightly. I can usually drift off in a matter of minutes (or less). But last night, I just could not wind down. A million things going around in my head. It reminded me of these lyrics from a BNL song called "Who Needs Sleep?":
My hands are locked up tight in fists
My mind is racing filled with lists
of things to do and things I've done
Another sleepless night's begun
Lids down, I count sheep
I count heartbeats
The only thing that counts is
that I won't sleep
I countdown, I look around
Who needs sleep?
(well you're never gonna get it)
Who needs sleep?
(tell me what's that for)
Who needs sleep?
I was totally there last night. I hope tonight's much better.
It's cycle day 27 and I haven't gotten my good old Aunt Flo yet. My cycles have been kinda short (well, for me) lately, so I was surprised when she didn't come yesterday. I so am not expecting her to stay away, but I do have some symptoms that would be hopeful to anyone but me. I've felt so sick to my stomach after dinner the last three nights. And the frequent urination. It's probably just period hormones. Anyway.
Today, Cam colored two pictures for Daddy. One with crayons and one with Crayola Color Wonder markers. The crayon pic was an abstract, and the marker pic was a frog from a coloring book. He's just started using crayons for actual coloring, rather than eating. I'm going to start doing simple art projects with him a few times a week. That's what he would be doing if he were in daycare, so I think I'll give it a whirl. We'll see what he comes up with next week.
I still have not gone to the grocery. I think it'll be a must tomorrow. My excuse today: it rained all day and was windy.
Well, I need to get off here so Tony can do some work. Adios, mis amigos!
