Food is in da house

Dum-da-da-dum! We went to the grocery today! Finally. A full grocery shopping trip. Stupidly, we went on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, when lots of folks are off work. And on a Monday, which apparently is the most busy day of the week for grocery stores. It was worse than shopping on a Saturday afternoon. Despite the crowded aisles, Cam and I had a good time. It was colder than a well-digger's tutu out there, though. I froze my ass off putting the bags in the trunk. I always have a dilemma when I get home, though. I used to have to put Cam in his crib while I carted the bags upstairs. He hated it and it stressed both of us out. My logical husband suggested that I just leave Cameron in his carseat while I took the groceries up. And you know what? It worked perfectly. He was only in the car less than five minutes longer than he would have been, and he didn't complain one bit.

Since we have food in the house now, we plan to eat in several days this week. Tonight, I made chili. As usual, I put way too much spaghetti in. I can't gauge spaghetti to save my life. No one ever said I was a good cook, though, so I'm not too beat up over it. Cam tried my chili and guess what? He liked it! He had several bites. Makes me feel good when he eats big kid food. Tomorrow, I think I'll fix a new chicken recipe everyone on my message board is raving about.

I've totally slacked on my house cleaning goals already. I haven't touched the bathroom. Well, there are a few hours left of Monday, so maybe I'll get to it. Not counting on it, though! That'll just mean double the work tomorrow. Hey. Cut me some slack. I went grocery shopping today.

I hate to be a whiner, but how come in the winter, when it's unseasonably warm, it's rainy and gloomy and when it's ass-biting cold, it's sunny as all get-out? Why can't I just be thankful for the positive weather aspects? Man, I'm sick of winter and it's only just begun.

OK, well, I'm off. See you manana. I don't know how to put "~" over my "n".
