Long live acetaminophen

I'm a little sick.  Ok, I'm full-out sick, but just a little sick at the moment.  I'm on the 4-hour sick/well/sick cycle.  Fever/miserable freezingness, Tylenol, feeling decentness, feeling great - Fever/miserable freezingness, Advil, feeling decentness, feeling great....lather, rinse, repeat.  Right now, I'm feeling decent.  Got the achy muscle, chills, swimmy head thing going on.  Not happy to have missed work today...not happy at all.  But my kids were SO GOOD as I slept the entire morning away and laid around the rest of the day.  And, I have an unexplainable rash on my thigh.  Just one thigh, and it doesn't itch or anything.  However, my left hand and forearm itch like mad and I've scratched way too vigorously, to the point of removing some important layer of skin.  (I think it's time to trim down the nails, Wolverine.)  So, I guess you can say I'm a mess today.

Twitter is great.  My friends are great.  Yesterday, one of my twitter friends posted simply "GY!BE."  I was like, "yeah!  I totally forgot."  Do you know the band Godspeed You! Black Emperor?  I was introduced to them by Google...when I was a Quality Rater.  Really, that job opened my eyes/ears to lots of stuff I never even knew existed.  Go to YouTube and have a gander at a few of their pieces.  I really like "Sleep."  Don't be put off by the spoken word stuff if you're not used to that sort of thing.  The instrumental stuff is really great, and the thing I love best about GY!BE is their actual use of dynamics.  It's like every album nowadays is the exact same volume, all the way through.  And that volume = loud.  That really annoys me, and is a full blog post of its own.  But this is so not so with GY!BE.  Which excites me.  Anyway.

Sometimes I miss the Quality Rater gig.  I feel very much out of the pop culture loop, and that was what really kept me going for a year. Also, the porn.  It was so laughable and entertaining.  Sigh.  I do miss it.  It would be the perfect side job for me.  Hire me back, Google?  Please?

Starting to feel sleepy...maybe the fever is getting stronger than the Advil or whatever it was I last took.  I'd like to go outside and stare at the sky for a while, but maybe I'll just lie on the couch and watch tv?  I don't like this sick crap.  It robs you of your control.
