Recap, plus.

Not feeling particularly verbose today.  But I'll throw down a few words, just to record recent events...if not to entertain and inspire you.

So, WOW!  It's June 1st!  We're nearly halfway through 2010 already?  When did that happen?  Where was I?  I honestly still feel like it's March.  March was a good month for me.  You know how some people relive their glory days on a regular basis?  Like the high school football star who's now 35?  "Living in the past?"  From now on, I'm going to say "Living in the March."

I like it a little too much when my ankle cracks.

I'm a little giddy with the recent posting - after a looooong drought - at one of my favorite blogs, Chasing Sheep!  I just love these chicas, and have missed them.  Plus Ms. Melancholy is a psychotherapist, and I like to pretend her persona is actually MY therapist.  I could see it.  (that sounds crazy, imagine)  I hope the posts continue.

So, we had Claire's birthday party at my sister's house Sunday.  I am so grateful to Amy for organizing and putting it on!  Thanks, Amers!  Claire was in a cruddy mood.  Luke had a giant, screaming, kicking, scratching meltdown, and I had to carry him up the deck stairs, dripping wet and fresh from the pool.  He's a big kid!  The assault continued in the house, where he let me know how much he hates me and how much he'd rather be with his daddy right then.  Good times!  I think the kids are just incredibly overtired these days.  Hopefully, Summer vacay will bring lots of catchup sleep for them.

Here's Bear at her party:

Here she is, dancing with her Barbie.  Fun dance, right?

The four of us:

Cathy and Joe hosted a kickass cookout yesterday.  I got a little hammered.  I know there was beer, two different kinds of wine, and champagne involved!  I'm not sure who moved my van, but I sure as hell hope it wasn't me!  I think I talked a lot.  As in, too much.  So I hope no one was annoyed.

Today feels so chill.  I'm hanging out on the couch with my legs stretched out.  Reeeelaaaaxed.  But not for long!  Need to get gussied up for job interview at the library.  Yay!  I'm excited about it.  Good god, I hope I get this one.

Here's some stuff Luke said to me this morning, all within a couple of minutes.  He said these things as he walked around in circles in the living room.  It'll give you a taste of the amount of stimulation that surrounds me on a daily basis:
I like every kind of singer, except The Shins.  I don't like the boats that sail away on Christmas Day.  I like Green Christmas.  Do Barenaked Ladies sing Green Christmas?  Will I get sick today?  I put chips on my chest and it itches.  Do I chew with my mouth closed?  Cause I don't want to let germs out.  And guess what?  I always just slide it in my mouth so it doesn't make crumbs or anything or a mess.  Here's how I do it:  I just put it on my fingers and pop it right in like this.
Also, he just asked me what kind of shoes I'm going to wear to my interview.  He thinks of everything.

My knee is twitching uncontrollably.  Just so's you know.  Peace out.

Oh, and by the way, I got your keys from you and Joe moved your van so he could get out this morning. :-)
