WTF
So, I just wrote an entire entry, and then deleted it. On purpose. I don't think I've ever done that. It was just so negative, and bitchy, and whiny, and obnoxious that I couldn't stand it. So, I will start anew.
The children are being challenging today. I am practicing mindful breathing (thanks, therapy!) today. I have not blown a gasket today. Today is really gray/grey and humid, but it could be worse! It could be a tornado! It could be 12 inches of snow! So, really, we are lucky to have such "mild" weather. I am lucky to be alive and well. Lucky, lucky, lucky.
I've decided that I am fixing the kids breakfast for dinner. Of course, I decided and announced this before I checked to see how many eggs are in the fridge. I actually have no clue. I may be doomed to experience the wrath of disappointed children. Oh wait, they're already generally disappointed with what I don't allow them to do. So no biggie, right?
The one highlight of my day thus far? A fantastic friend brought me a fantastic gift to enjoy this evening. You can usually count on friends for support.
Also, my friend Jeff just said something that has rocked my world. I complained that Wednesday sucks. He replied with, "Maybe it's not a coincidence that after Tuesday, the days of the week spell WTF." Completely profound, right?
I am sitting here, mouth agape, as Luke gives Claire advice on being patient. "Claire, stop asking. If you'll just be patient, Happy Feet will be on before you know it." What a wise 4-year-old. Not that he practices what he's preaching in the least!
Aaaaaannnndddd, perfecto. I thought I had gotten lucky today and had escaped from having to change a poopy diaper, but my neice has shat herself. My brother-in-law is due to pick her up in like 10 minutes. Couldn't she have just waited? Jeeze! It's all about her, and her little princess bowels. Can't it be about me, for once?? Seriously.
I don't care for Happy Feet. Truthfully, I don't care for most of the movies my kids like to watch. I like Shrek. That's about it. I think I might just be a poopy-pants.
Ha, so there were enough eggs. I fixed scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, apples and grape tomatoes. Luke gave me the thumbs up and said, "Good dinner, Mom!" - which made me feel pretty happy. Then Cam said, "You're the best cook, ever, Mom! Well, really, Dad's the best cook, but you're good." So, back down to Earth. Gotsta love kids. (but my eggs are pretty damn fine) Now...who's gonna clean all those dishes? ;)
