Driving

So, I used to live in this city...we'll call it "Erlanger" (because that's what it's named). My kid went to preschool at a church (seriously, a church) in the same city. Then I moved to another "city," we'll call it "Independence." Erlanger is pretty citified. Independence, more like hugely developing rural. Anyway, the preschool my kid went to is really good. It's in a church, but they do hardcore (ok, how hardcore can preschool get) state-licensed or mandated or whatever curriculum. And the Jesus stuff is kept to a minimum. My kids know my take on the Christ thing, anyway. I tell them some people believe it's real; some people think it's a story...it's up to each person to get the information and figure out what they believe. And then my kids say, "you think it's a story, don't you?" I'm transparent. Anyway, so I'm not worried about the whole churchness of the situation. So, when we moved to Independence, I kept taking the kid/s to Erlanger for preschool two days/week.

So, here's the thing: Independence isn't close to anything. Where I (used to)live used to be like 20 minutes from the interstate, depending on the traffic. This is before they finished a new road that bypassed the "little town/main street" area. So I took these back roads that connected (loosely connected) Independence and Erlanger to get the kid/s to preschool at first. Windy roads that scared me at first. But I got pretty good at them. Then the new road opened, and we were only 10 - 12 minutes from the interstate, depending on traffic. So then I just took the kiddo to school that way. Faster, more direct.

Point...point....um? Point? Oh yes. So, after Claire and I dropped Luke off at preschool this morning, we had a little breakfast. Left our favorite server, Jessica, a big tip, cause it's likely the last time we'll see her for quite a while, since this is the last week of preschool. Then we decided to head to the library. Now, there's a library very close to Luke's school in Erlanger, but Claire prefers Uncle Shawn's Library in Independence (my brother-in-law works at this branch, so obviously he owns it). I decided to take my old backroads way to get from Erlanger to Independence. It was a lot of fun!

There's this one road...we'll call it "Bristow," that has lots of curves and if you are very stealthy (such as I am, in my ninja van) you can take the curves very quickly and nicely. Then, after the stop sign (dang intersection), it gets wider and straighter, and more populated as there are a couple of neighborhoods popping up. Then. Well, then. Then, the road gets rocking-awesome. Except the speed limit decreases. Sad. Yes, there is some kind of horse place and a huge-ass barn, plus a little airfield, and I guess it's important not to hit people who happen to be crossing on horses (there's a horse crossing sign, but I totally have never seen any horses crossing), but it's the best part of Bristow! It goes downhill and is majorly curvy and I can handle it like a charm. (Stealthy, remember.) Yeah, I totally flew down that part of Bristow today.

Then, you turn on to a trashy little part of a road we'll call "Independence Road." That's were, a couple of months back, I witnessed a male person, working on his car in his front yard with a rooster on his back. Short stretch, nothing exciting, other than the fake deer in the front of one of the shanties. Then it gets confusing. Because the next street is called Shaw. Either Road or Pike. The street sign at one end says Pike. The street sign at the other end says Road. This really bothers me. Actually, to no end. Get a clue, City of Independence.

So, that's it. All that to tell you that I enjoyed driving from Erlanger to Independence today. Oh, also there was a prop plane in the airfield today, which I find exciting. I didn't see any horses though...might have been going too fast. ;)

I think it's a story too. But I go even deeper off the edge of Christianity. I think earth was terra formed by a higher intelligence being from another galaxy. Far, far, away.

And that these alien beings (you may call them gods) had the scientific knowledge to create life forms. Which is why I support the theory of intelligent design.

I don't know what scared them off. Or if they watch from afar. But the whole thing (life) is probably just some elementary-grade science experiment being watched by some overzealous, nerdy, pubescent alien.

And his Dad is probably helping him with the project.

I also think he has tried multiple versions of this experiement. Not sure what version we're on. But it explains all the smiting, flooding, and general violence against humanity condoned by the "christian gods".

That's my take. Ask me my religion? I'm an "iconoclast".

How's that for a post? :-)
