I'm going to post an entry

Here's some stuff from Saturday night:

It's raining, and I don't care for the rain.  If I had a covered balcony, it might be less annoying, but we have decks, and the 3rd level deck isn't enough coverage for me.  There are raindrops sparkling - yes, truly sparkling - on the tree branches outside my apartment, but I can't capture them.  My camera's batteries are dead, and I can't find my charger!  I could swear I had packed it up, but it very well might be at my old house.  Did I mention the old house is in foreclosure?  I went there tonight, and my garage door opener failed to open the garage.  I suspect the person responsible for paying the electric bill has stopped doing so.  Which makes me feel stabby.  I know that "stabby" might be offensive to at least one of my good friends, and I apologize for that.  I just can't think of a better word to describe how I feel about it.

Today, I've been obsessed with the band Cake.  Did I like Cake when they were in their height?  Yeah, sure.  Why haven't I embraced them until recently?  No idea.  But I really love the song "Ain't No Good," like tons.  Playing it again.  Here, you can, also:

Tonight, I decided to revisit old times and buy a bottle of cheap-ass sparkling wine.  And a small bottle of orange juice.  Mimosas!  Moral of the story?  Very tasty.  However, sparkling wine does not pack quite the same punch as regular wine.  If you know what I'm saying.  Also?  OJ is so sweet.  Maybe too sweet.  But a change-up is fun.

I got my Christmas tree and holiday decorations from Pathy* tonight, and plan to work on getting things festive this week.  First, I need to dedicate some time Sunday to finally getting my living room in order.  Arranging things, hanging prints, etc.  Making room for tree.

Here's some stuff from tonight:

It snowed shitons tonight.  It is a beautiful, sparkly winter wonderland out there.  I feel responsible (semi) and prepared.  My car has a full tank of gas, and I have groceries and toiletries.  I did not get my paycheck deposited, because I can't seem to remember that my Kroger's 5/3 Bankmart closes at 4pm on Sunday, rather than 5pm.  Duh.  Anyway, I plan to do it tomorrow morning.  Speaking of tomorrow, I plan to get up super-early to beat the madness that is Other Drivers, so that I may (A) deposit my check in the ATM and (B) get to work early/on time.

I have my Xmas tree and all rubbermaid boxes filled with decorations out of my car and in my apartment.  I have hung my favorite tree print, as well as a shelf which is now displaying a rockin' awesome Marc Johns print and the Fall leaf collage my daughter made.  Also, I hung my super-cool green dot-canvas-thingy over the TV area.  If I'm feeling frisky, I might even hang my two tree prints in the dining room.  I am so excited to make this place my own!  It's been 3.5 months...time to personalize it, already!

Christmas is a great motivator to get your shit in order.

I hope someone gets me the floor lamp I am so craving.  Or one similar.  This living room needs some light.

Should I start to erect the Xmas tree tonight?  Is that too ambitious?  Perhaps.  Maybe I'll root through the boxes to see what else I can display...Omg, all kinds of Christmas shit is going up...cool cranberry wreath over the pass-through, bizarre-yet-awesome icicle potted tree thing and sparkly cone-ish Xmas tree on the pass-through counter.  Silver star with beady-balls in the hallway.

Ugh, I'm sort of tired of the Christmas stuff, already.  And the tree isn't even up.  I am ADD. I get distracted easily.  Let me talk about my grocery trip.  The roads were rather slick.  The drivers were careful.  I was impressed my Loveland's drivers!  At Kroger, some lady asked me where the frozen pizzas were, and I felt a sense of holiday helpfulness in directing her to the proper place.  She said "thank you" like three times.  I think I might have made her night. ;)  And it was so pretty outside, with the big flakes falling down, that I couldn't help but smile like a loon in the parking lot.  I'm sure the other shoppers thought I was insane.  Insane woman pushes cart with crazy smile on face through snowy tundra.

I bought a new AA battery charger tonight.  I just can't be without one any longer.  I am all frugal, so I bought a cheaper one that takes 8 hours to charge.  Do you know what this means?  Soon I will be taking pics like a fiend.  It kills me not to be able to properly capture the sparkly snow on the branches outside my  window.

I use a Pampered Chef turner/spatula thing to scrape my car's windows.  Either I am a loser or really inventive.

Again, I  am excited for Monday morning.  What is wrong with me?  I like to start a new week, strange as it may be. Ready to be productive at work.  Ready to face the day.< / freak>

(I had to space out my closed tag, else Blogger would try to see it as real html.  Dumb Blogger.)

Yes, I could probably be a decent programmer if I had to.  Do you know the secret to programming?  It's copying what everyone else does, but making it your own.  You use the work of others as a base, but customize it to suit your needs.  Does that seem fair?  It's my interpretation.  Truth:  I honestly think I could be decent at any job. Maybe even good at any job.  Does that make me cocky?  I think it might.

Ok, time to end this madness.  Time to clean up the living room.  Time to think about sleep.  Goodnight.

*Isn't 'Pathy' an inventive way to disguise her real name???
