The Holiday of Christmas is drawing to a close. Christmas Eve, I worked...not very productively so, I'm afraid. Not sad to have worked - got to be with people I truly like, so that's fab. Then got to spend time with family at my aunt's house for the annual Xmas Eve Shindig. My kids had a great time. I'm amazed and pleased with how all my "little" second cousins are growing into "men"...and fine people I'm pleased to call family. I got to hold, feed, and lull to sleep a little baby girl. I had forgotten how much holding a baby helps me to calm down. So comforting, so soothing.
This morning, we got some Christmas Gasoline, then headed down to my sister's house for breakfast and gifts! I'm pretty certain the kids loved all their presents and spending time with my awesome little family. The ex picked the kids up and then I took a fabulous Christmas Nap on my sister's couch. Next up, Special Christmas Pot Pie. Well, Chicken Pot Pie...with with Amers, Shawn, Rowan, and Mom. I headed home, did some Christmas Laundry, and am now enjoying some non-Christmas tunes while enjoying some Christmas Wine. I may get a little Christmas Drunky tonight, but that's ok, because it's a holiday.
Christmas Comfort is everything. Especially since I shoved possibly 3x my normal intake in my piehole today. Currently, I'm sporting comfy fleece PJ bottoms (with stars), my softest tshirt (Cleveland Indians) an insanely warm red cable knit sweater, and NB tennis shoes. Gym Shoes. Athletic shoes. Running Shoes. Whatever.
Though I did not receive any iTunes gift cards for Xmas, I've been busy purchasing a handful of tunes, simply cause I'm tired of only being able to listen to them via YouTube. Cake. I have more I want to procure, but I also need to pay the internet and gas/electric bills and buy groceries, so there you go.
I am chomping at the bit (who says that?) to get my apartment in order. I wish I could magically produce a couch and dining room table/chairs. I totally don't care that I sleep on a mattress and box springs on the floor. I'm comfortable. The kids all have nice beds. But I want a couch! And a table that doesn't fold up! Also a bookshelf-type deal for the living room. Then I'd be happy. Then I'd wish for paint...
Between bloggy thoughts, I am working on my "Winter, Brrr" playlist. Any suggestions for a lady who appreciates new/different music?

Merry Christmas, Mel! I'm exactly the opposite person you're looking for to give you music suggestions, so I'll refrain. I'll just say that I hope 2011 is a fantastic year for you, because you certainly deserve it!
