I think I told you that my laptop is (hopefully temporarily) out of commission. I had to resort to using the old Dinosaur Dell in the basement for a couple of days. But that kinda put me away from the rest of the family, plus I kind of like taking advantage of the actual living space in my house, rather than the giant concrete storage pit. I like my house, okay?
So, Friday, I stupidly "carried" a heavy-ass, awkwardly-shaped desk downstairs from my bedroom to our playroom on the main level. The result, Playroom is now Office/Playroom. Another result: bruises on Melanie's arm and both thighs. Couple of knicks in stairwell drywall.
Then, I moved the computer up from the basement. I'm very glad to have this computer, don't get me wrong. But it runs slow, and keeps running out of virtual memory. I'm not even sure what that means. It's not like I have all that much open when it tells me it needs to make more room.
Anyway, I got the Dinosaur all set up in the Playroom, which was nice, but a little uncomfortable. The monitor is bulky and the desk is narrow, so I felt like I was sitting on top of the screen. And the kitchen chair I was using was not exactly ergonomic. So, the current situation: I dragged the expensive, plush, I-had-to-have-it-when-I-was-preggo-with-Cam glider up to the desk. Put the keyboard and mouse down in the desk's pull-out tray thing, and now I'm chillin' in comfort! It's ridiculous! I could seriously take a nap like this.
My friend Bob is gonna take a look at the notebook this week...hopefully, it's salvageable. If so, I'll be hanging out in the new office in my glider with my old friend on my lap. And I'll have an extra monitor to use for all my important work. HA!
