I never thought...

I never thought I'd have a little girl.  I never thought I'd have a little girl who wears Tinkerbell PJs, but I do.  I never thought I'd think Tinkerbell PJs on a little girl would be cute, but I do - they are!  She is!

I never thought I'd have three kids.  Three kids who are (give or take) all two years apart.  Before I had kids, I thought I'd never be able conceive children.  Just a feeling.  Glad it was an incorrect one!  I really never thought I'd be a single mom to three kids under the age of seven, who are all two years apart.  But I am.  And it will be ok.  We'll be fine!  I'll make sure of it.  We have an amazing family and tons of generous, supportive friends.

I was listening to my ipod, and Butterfly Boucher came on and sang

     I found out
I can only be who I am
I can only do what I can
I won't try to describe the relief

I've been giving these lyrics a lot of thought.  This is my new mantra.  It's kind of empowering.  I can only be who I am - but I can be the best me I can.

I'm really looking forward to starting over.  I never thought I'd say that, but I am!

New beginnings, even when forced upon you, are amazing opportunities. Your kids are lucky to have you Mel.
