This is what it's all about
Wake up as Luke comes into our room. It's just before 6am. Luke freaks out (quietly, though) because he thinks he's dropped/lost my tshirt that he slept with. He has his Bluefish and Big Nutbrown Hare, though. Go into his room to search for tshirt, look in the hallway, find tshirt in my bed, right next to Bluefish. Try to convince Luke to sleep with me while Tony gets a shower. No dice. Turn on TV to find no kid shows. When asked to choose between the news and yoga, Luke chooses yoga. He watches it intently, while using my stomach as a pillow. Extra soft. Tony leaves for work. 7am rolls around and I drag myself out of bed and coax Cam out of bed (this takes 10 minutes), grab a towel and washcloth and get clothes for him to wear today. Keep Cam on pace as he goes to the bathroom, washes hands and brushes his teeth. Without me cheering him on, these tasks would take about 1/2 hour. Each. Wet & brush Cam's hair and wash his face. As Cam dresses, and I encourage him to move "quickly," I change Luke's diaper and help him dress. Go downstairs, let Walter outside, start cleaning up the messy kitchen. Get the boys their homemade breakfast of granola bars and bananas and milk. Pop open a Dr. Pepper, take medicine. Measure out Cam's Claritin, sign his report card and sign/comment on his disruptive behavior report from last week. Remind him that he needs to apologize the the kid he painted in art class and to the kid he pushed by the cubbies at the end of the day on Friday. Remind Cam to eat "quickly." Cam and Luke get cleaned up from breakfast, Cam takes his allergy meds, coats on boys, backpack on Cam. It's pouring rain, so we (including Walt) hop in Tony's car (he took my van because his car is low on gas) and drive up to the bus stop to wait for bus. Cam gets on bus, we drive home, and get Claire up. Rowan will be here any minute. Change and dress Claire, get her milk and granola bar. Rowan arrives and Shawn seems cheery. I seem grumpy and tired, because I am. Rowan sits happily in her carseat for 15 minutes while I do a little google work and the kids watch tv. Luke has a fit about something....could have been anything....and screams and scares the bejeezus out of Rowan. She cries for 1/2 hour...nothing I do helps. Finally, I give up and make a bottle, even though she's eaten recently. She calms down in time for Claire to poop, so I put Row in the swing while I change the Clairester. Row isn't happy about the swing, but is only mildly fussy, so I leave her there while I eat my breakfast of a granola bar and Stouffer's fried chicken breast and mashed potatoes. Well, I only eat 1/2 of it because Luke and Claire devour the other half. I hold her some more - she's content. Claire, though, is getting grumpy, so I re-swing Rowan and put Claire down for her nap. Rowan sleeps in the swing for 45 minutes while I do my google timesheet, write this blog, and change Luke's poopy diaper. She wakes up mad, I change her diaper, put her in her carseat, get Luke's coat on, stick the carseat on the stroller, grab Walt's leash and head up to the bus stop. Luckily, it's only misting now instead of pouring. Walter won't walk on my right side, Rowan cries the whole time, but Luke's having a good walk! Cam gets off the bus and we walk back home. Row is majorly upset, so I try to calm her, to no avail. Luke poops again. I change him and strap Rowan into my Baby Bjorn to clean off the table and get lunch ready for the STARVING boys. She hates the Bjorn. After I clean off the table, I make her a bottle. That puts her to sleep - at least long enough to get the boys' lunch, pee, and eat 1/4 of an apple. Then I hold Rowan for a while, and she's semi-content. Then Luke poops again, big time, and decides he's ready for a nap. Just in time for Claire to wake up from hers. Rowan relaxes happily in her swing for like 20 minutes while Claire eats this and that and Cam carries a stuffed bear around in the Bjorn. I eat half of a BIG Hershey's bar and drink more Pepper. And blog. Row goes back into Aunt Melanie's arms. That was around 2pm, and the rest of the afternoon looks pretty much the same. The awesome news is - Tony came home and took the kids out to eat for dinner! So I'm here alone. And it rocks. As I read over this, it sounds so whiney and complainy! But it's just that kind of a day. Gross, rainy, PMSy. What can you do? There's always tomorrow!

I'm exhausted just reading that, Mel! You are a saint. Not that my day is too much different, just lots more in and out of the car, and one less baby. :)
Oh boy. So that's what it's like to have 3 or 4 Rylie's. I'm sorry.
I hope your next day was/is easier.
