Rock salt....rocks. I love that stuff. Yeah, the stuff they put on roads to melt ice. I'm being serious. It makes the best, most satisfying crunchy sound under tires or underfoot. And it's not just the sound, it's the.....sensation. Like, you can feel the texture. I really and truly love it. And I'm not the only one. Apparently, it's a genetic thing, because the other day, Cam said, "I like the way the ice sounds when we drive on it!" We were driving on rock salt! That's my boy.
And yes, I know that rock salt (halite) is harmful to plants and soil...not to mention your car's paint job....and the awful pot holes it causes on pavement. I don't care. I love it anyway.

Is it you that has a thing about water towers? I had a dream about them the other night.
And, they don't do salt here, but I remember enjoying the sound too.
Yes, I'm the water tower freak. They scare me. In fact, I have a post in the works about them. Coming soon.
