On Style

It's pretty pathetic when your definition of high style is 'anything other than workout pants.' This morning, I threw on giant - and I mean giant...really baggy and way too long - track pants. They were light blue with white stripes on the sides. Then a really old, pretty big UK sweatshirt. I felt like I was wearing pajamas, but it seemed like proper attire for taking Cam and Luke to school. Although, I have to mention, some of the moms in Cam's class really glam it up to take their kids to school...knee-high boots, skirts, shawls (is that still what they're called - shawls?), perfect hair and makeup, the works. Anyway, that's not me, and I don't care what they think about my casualness. Then, I decided to call the pediatrician about Claire's persistent diaper rash/possible yeast rash. They could get her in today, so I decided to put on my nice track pants: the black ones with white stripes. Much more formal. Loser!!!

Let it be noted that I debated seriously on which term to use for my lazy pants....are they workout pants or are they track pants? Does it matter, considering I wear them not to work out...nor do I frequent tracks - ever?

I'm right there with you, sistah. In my book, the only difference between clothes & pajamas is the presence or absence of a bra. I wear track pants (and haven't been on a track since my senior year in '92) 99.9% of the time.

I think "track pants" is a regional thing. We say "sweat pants" or "yoga pants" :)

I look like death every day when I pick my kids up from school.
