The boys

Cam's been sick for the past three days. First the diarrhea, then he started with a fever and a hellacious cough. (apparently, hellacious isn't a word) Poor thing is pathetic. He wants to play and be normal so badly, but then he starts feeling so crappy. His fever's coming back now. I foresee a nap from him soon.

Tony and I went to his pre-Kindergarten evaluation with his preschool teacher yesterday. He's right on track to start Kindergarten in the Fall. In fact, he's ahead of the game academically. I'm so relieved. Of course, I was confident he was ready, but then I got to thinking that maybe I was just being one of those parents with the delusion that their child is brilliant when they are as dumb as a rock. So, let it be known: I was right about something.

LJ's pediatric gastroenterologist appointment is February 12th. Seems like quite a while away, but it's much better than the March 4th appointment I was given at first. That would have been what we'd get if we went to the more-convenient, way-nicer Northern Kentucky satellite of Children's Hospital. Instead, we'll be braving the trip to the scary part of Cincy to the main campus. It's such a pain there, and you end up waiting forever for your appointment. At least I know what to expect, since we had to go there for urology appointments when Cameron was a babe.

Cam and Luke are doing a puzzle in the bathroom (don't ask - as long as they are playing semi-nicely, I don't question the location) and Cam just told Luke, "that doesn't go there, ok, Me Hearty?" Then, he said, "that's a fine job, My Man."

Of course Cam is doing great! I'm not surprised at all, but I totally get you thinking your kid is brilliant. I've worried about that before, too.

Good luck with Luke's appointment!
