Tony made me a report so I can track how many hits this blog gets. So far, over the last three days, it's gotten ZERO! It rocks being so popular!
We are having our porch posts and railings replaced. The contractor showed up unexpectedly this morning. I spoke with him yesterday and he was just ordering the materials, so I assumed it would be a few days before they started the job. I assumed totally wrong. I mean, I'm glad they're here, but I was still in my boxers and tshirt, hair and teeth unbrushed. I had just put Cameron down for his morning nap. The dogs went bezerk (is that how you spell that?) Anyway, at this point, all of our old railing has been taken down. The guys are pretty loud talkers and of course the power saw and hammering is loud, so I doubt Cam will even get a nap today. Oh well! It's just a few days.
OK, medical news. Cameron has his opthamology appointment last Monday. They confirmed his blocked duct problem and examined his eyes for any other problems. His eyes are healthy otherwise and the doc told us all about the surgery. A scheduler person is supposed to call this week to set up the procedure. Pretty soon, there will be a link to the left of this page that talks about blocked ducts and the surgery. It's a very minor surgery, but the thought of them putting Cam under with anesthesia is very unnerving! I'm totally sure things will go well, though.
Dad is having his spleen removed on September 22. Actually he checks into the hospital on the 21st so they can block the artery to his spleen. I took him to have some tests done last week and the radiologist told him it's the largest spleen she's ever seen. It's so enlarged that it's in his middle abdomen area. Makes him look kinda pregnant. I told him getting rid of that spleen will be like giving birth.
Oh my, our neighborhood is turning into the hood. I swear. The house across the street used to be owned by a quiet couple who had a boat. That's pretty much all I knew about them. They were normal, non-trashy people who kept their house and yard pretty nice. Well, the house sold and the people who bought it are renting it out. To a bunch of young guys who throw parties every other day and who park their jacked up "monster" trucks IN THE YARD! I kid you not. Oh and they built a fire pit and have bonfires IN THE FRONT YARD! On top of that, they play cornhole/corntoss in the front yard - and the cornhole boxes have rebel flags painted on them. I tell you, this neighborhood is going downhill fast. When they have a party, they set up a picnic table in the driveway and move the cars/trucks to the yard. Makes perfect sense, right? The other day, there were NINE VEHICLES in the yard/driveway and people were sitting in the back of the monster truck. Just lovely. Will we ever be able to sell our house, I wonder?
I better go get Cam...he's fussing mightily in his crib. There will be no sleep with this noise. Have a great day and thanks for reading my blog. That's for you, Tony, my lone reader :( cry cry cry
