I bring on the snow

Listening to: Can you guess? Yep, it's a BNL cd - Maroon (I'm really grooving to "Conventioneers" today)
Reading: Shock by Robin Cook. OK, I found this book in Tony's bedside table. I think my Mom got it for me a couple Christmases ago. Not really my type of novel, but I'm desperate. Actually, once I look past the obnoxious writing style, questions asked without question marks and unbelievably formal dialogue, it's a decent story. Man, I'm critical. Anyway, at least I'm reading.

Ahhh, it's Friday. Not that that really means anything to me. Tony works tomorrow, so it won't really feel like a Saturday; therefore, it won't really be significant. So, we ended up getting a few inches of white stuff yesterday. Not sure of the exact accumulation, but road crews - of course - weren't prepared for it and lots of schools were off today. They are calling for more snow, sleet and freezing rain to develop late tonight into tomorrow. Sounds like fun. Not.

Oh man, the dog saga continues. So, I get out of the shower today and walk into the hallway, wrapped in a towel (only semi-naked, you see). I look into the living room and Hank is sitting there with an odd look on his face. And then he pukes on the carpet. In two different spots. Lovely. And it was all liquidy so it soaked in quickly. So there I am, trying to keep my towel up, sopping up dog spew. Yep, the living room blinds are up, of course. Anyway, I got dressed while the Resolve was supposedly working. I couldn't get the larger stain of the two to come up. We were planning on having Stanley Steemer come and do the carpets and couches anyway, so I went ahead and made an appointment for a Monday cleaning.

My mother-in-law, Jan, is supposed to stop by after work today to give me my birthday gift. I kind of hope the snow keeps her away. She told Tony last night that she probably wouldn't go into work today (typical) so I just hope she isn't able to muster the energy to get off her ass, get a shower and get dressed to get out of the house. She's like that. I'm kind of counting on it. Just in case, though, the main areas of the house are cleaned and vacuumed.

OK, so I wrote that yesterday afternoon. Had to stop typing because guess who showed up? Jan! I was so surprised she went to work. It wasn't so bad. Cam was asleep, though. I guess I should thank him for that, because she didn't stay long. She gave me two lovely fleece tops for my birthday. But - and of course there's a but - they are size Small! I am far from a Small. She said, "I hope they fit you. Only certain sizes were available." Which means she probably got them on sale (online, with no receipt - go figure) and there were only Smalls left. Anyway, I think the red one will look lovely on my sister and fit her perfectly. She also brought some potty training butt wipes and hand soap for Cam. She's dying to get that kid potty-trained. Because Tony was potty-trained at 12 months, you know. Whatever. Cam will be potty-trained when he's good and ready. I just ignore her obnoxious butt.

Hey, guess what happened this morning? Walter threw up in the living room! And the kitchen! Yay! Blech. At least the kitchen barf was easy to clean up. Why does this stuff always happen when Tony's not home?

Tony left work earlier than usual (lately, anyway) yesterday and the three of us when out to dinner! I'm so glad we all go out and spent some QT together. We went to LaRosa's, which is a local pizza place. Cameron had a blast. He flirted with so many people around us. He soaks up the attention and is such a ham. He also ate like a starving grown man. You'd think I don't feed him. He loves pizza and french fries and strawberries and applesauce and goldfish crackers, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

No freezing rain or snow to speak of yet. Oh my god, wouldn't you know it! Just as soon as I typed that, it started snowing! I jinxed everything! Holy crap! It's like I have Carrie-like powers! Look out kids, I'm going to burn down the gym! On this note, I'm going to retire to the living room for some book-readin' and Dove ice cream (which is divine, by the way). Have a good weekend!
